On March 3, 2001, Helen Fabis, 87, was taken by ambulance to the Critical Care Unit of Memorial Community Hospital, Edgerton, profoundly confused, malnourished and in critical condition, and suffering form the effects of Carbon Monoxide poisoning. On March 8, 2001, Kathleen Simane, Aunt Helen's grandniece, was appointed her Temporary Guardian. In less than 54 days of Simane's tenure, Simane spent all of Aunt Helen's life savings (bank accounts, SS checks, proceeds from sale of stocks, cash), in excess of $75,000.

Helen Fabis, died in April 2001. Helen's great-niece Kathleen Simane was temporary guardian while Helen was sick and was personal representative of the estate after Helen's death. Simane was charged in Rock County Court with taking more than $72,000 from Helen's bank accounts before Helen died. Simane also is accused of using a fake insurance letter to convince Jean Glowacki, who was Helen's sister and Simane's grandmother, to sign over a $3,356 life insurance check.

Kathleen Simane, a court-appointed guardian, used her position to steal more than $75,000 from her dying great-aunt, Helen Fabis of Edgerton. Simane, of St. Paul, Minn., who spent money on a car and breast augmentation, was caught and sentenced to two years in prison, extended supervision and $78,289 in restitution to the Fabis estate.

Shameful and unforgiveable. A state cage should be this crooks home until this felon is frail, old and feeble.
In a state cage until this vulture is decalared a ward of the state with a young, nasty, cruel guardian making all life and death decisions for this miserable criminal til her last hour of life.
The best form of justice is when the bad person is forced to suffer alot in the end the same way that their victims suffered. I think that is called Karma. What a sad sorrowful story I hope people learn God is watching and to be good and honest.
I knew this women. Unfortunately, this didn't surprise me. We wondered how she came in to the money being that she rarely ever had training clients.

How can a convicted felon be legally using guns to train dogs just because she uses a different name?

Yes it is her, and she's stupid enough to have a picture of her posing with the dog, dead birds, and HOLDING a shotgun. Yes, she is not allowed to handle, possess, or use a weapon of any kind. That is a violation of her Probation. Felony probation, means jail time.

To those of you that say you knew her for 17 yrs, you have to be as stupid as she is to believe her lies of her "troubles"! I am her cousin and I have seen her in action at the young age 0f 6!! The things she did to out great Aunt are inexcusable! Do NOT fall for her sympathy stories and lies.....I know better! She deserves to spend her life in prison, not enjoying her dogs etc! Our Aunt was stripped of her golden years by this evil, manipulative person and she does not deserve freedom! Kharma will come back to haunt her!

Simane made a lot of mistakes and the big one that finally got her in prison was her biggest mistake of all targeting the person she took advantage of Helen Fabis. I agree Simane should have received more prison time to keep society safer. KARMA yes!
Tamme you confirmed what I believe that sociopaths come into this world lacking characteristics that allow for a conscience they come into this world in costume but in reality they are predators - it scares me to think of her birth parents with abnormal DNA who created this monster in the form of a human being. I'm being attacked by this Psycho as we speak! Tried to get me convicted on a bogus animal abuse charge stole my dog murdered her and now is going everywhere imaginable trying to destroy me and my company that I have a hard to get running. She consistently has been stalking me harassing my friends clients family you name it this woman is an absolute psychopath!!
Came across this post, she is now operating as a baker in MN with an expired cottage license. She is also stealing many different bakers pictures and putting her own watermark on them. The also has taken a picture from taste of home and used her watermark on it so now is breaking copyright laws.
