Thank you Joe Roubicek for your ongoing efforts to expose what I believe is a national crisis.
The OPPAGA Report shows the players and you translate how the game is played between government parties playing pass the buck while the predators are taking advantage of the situation, laying in wait for their prey.
In my opionion part of the problem is that federal and state funding, resources, manpower and considerations are directed to the victims and their advocates who are visibile and make the most noise.
The vulnerable victims of all forms of elder abuse are absent and silent.
Where are they?
Some of the reasons they are silent, powerless, unable to join forces and unite because:
1) They, now, are deceased or
2) They are ill and frail
3) They are homebound; locked up in nursing facilities
4) They are intentionally drugged with psychotropic medications into a dark world of silence and submission
5) They do not have the knowledge, the resources or the energy to find each other and unite to be heard.
5) They do not belong to our future; they are part of our past.
Therefore, I believe it is our duty and responsibility as members of socieity, as Americans, to unite on this mission when we see inaction and the injustice continues.
It is up to us to speak loudly and continue to act on behalf of those members of our society who cannot speak for themselves.

Good points Sylvia, thanks for the comments anonymous,and thank you NASGA for posting my work so that it has not been written in vain. :)
I believe that a simple, fair and accurate account of these issues will educate many and discourage those who "muddle" them unnecessarily.
NASGA and similar organizations present a "voice" that is not ignored by political and other government entities and I am sure that this is making a difference.
