Guardianship Employee Arrested

State Police arrested 28-year-old Amanda Messer-Riddle. She is charged with one count of exploitation of an endangered adult and four counts of theft.

Messer-Riddle worked for Personal Resource Management and Financial Care of the Wabash Valley.

Employees have guardianship over client's finances.

The company tipped off state police when they found money might have been mishandled. Police said Messer-Riddle had removed more than $15,000 from four client's bank accounts.

Messer-Riddle could face up to three years and a fine of $10,00 for each felony count.

TV or not TV? That is the question - and the answer!

This calls for a full investigation of Personal Resource Mananagement and Financial Care of Wabash Vally.

Amanda Messer-Riddle is just one employee. The entire staff should be investigated!

Let's hope after a big trial, she'll be locked up for many years and will also be forced to pay back the money she stole.

Who was supposed to be supervising Amanda Messer-Riddle? Was anybody watching her?

Four withdrawals. They should have caught the first, but three more?

Disgusting, unacceptable and criminal behavior = long prison sentence for Amanda Messer-Riddle
with full restitution or it's back to state prison.

The judges need to get tough on this type of crime and send a clear, loud message that society demands accountability and harsh punishment - no mercy.

This is one example of many, you can bet on that.

Oh, I noticed the company used the term: "money might have been mishandled". The money was embezzled / stolen.

A full thorough audit and review of all guardianship case files would be the least that should be done under the circumstances.

I hope they throw the book at her!

This will be a case to watch!

Another example of a NON-family member THIEF.

You're right, Anon 3, they should have caught it right after the first withdrawal.

Who's guarding this guardian?

No one is guarding or watching the guardians. Guardianship is open season - next case.

The company tipped of state police? OK who tipped off the company?

The company should reimburse those the money was stolen from.

I personally know one of the victims and PRM should be shut down and the owner should be held liable - the family complained about Amanda Messer and PRM for 2 year and the court wouldn't listen. They neglected this woman and did nothing but take her money.

The pre-trial hearing is December 17 at 2 p.m. for this case and the jury trial is set for January 28, 2009 at 9 a.m. Show your support and come to these hearings and help put a stop to this type of abuse and exploitation of the elderly and incapacitated. The families of these victims needs your support! More victims are out there, we need them to come forward.
