State and local officials came together for operation guardian at Rockford’s Alden Park Strathmoor Nursing Home.“About seven months ago we started doing unannounced checks of across the state of Illinois to determine whether or not nursing homes were identifying offenders and whether or not those offenders living there had a safety plan in place,” says Attorney General Lisa Madigan. The check in Rockford revealed four people living at Alden Park with out-standing criminal warrants.
It has those with loved ones at Alden Park concerned.“My sister-in-law is a paraplegic and she doesn’t speak so for her to tell us that’s impossible if something had happened,” says Linda Perry.Although this is the first compliance check in the Stateline, it won’t be the last. Madigan says illegal activities are happening in nursing homes all across the state.

Murderers, perverts, etc. grow old and where do they go? Nursing homes.
Only the other patients there aren't informed.
Sometimes, the fellow residents are more of a danger than the staff.

A real win for nursing home reform!
I urge Lisa Madigan to extend her investigation into the Cook County Probate Courts on the 18th floor of the Daley Center.
She will frequently see judges ordering wards funds be placed into OBRA accounts.
Once the funds are in an OBRA, the ward can no longer spend their money on housing (per law). Their guardian moves the ward to a for-profit public aid facility.
However, the OBRA funds may (by law) be used for legal and guardianship fees.
The guardians and lawyers quickly spend down the estate, and the ward gets placed into hands of state guardian when nothing is left.
The judges are authorizing this legalized Medicaid Fraud/Abuse to enable their colleagues on the 18th floor to get rich quick.
Lisa Madigan, please open your eyes to the rest of the story that's occuring on your watch in Cook County.
The elderly don't choose these homes....their guardians do.
